How to Join Us

Joining up is easy: just come along to one of our parade nights. We are currently open from 1900 on most Mondays and Wednesdays (excluding bank holidays). During the summer months we occasionally stand down, so please contact us if you would like to ensure that we will be open when you arrive.

New Cadets

We are always excited to see a new cadet on the Squadron. Both the cadets and the staff will do their very best to make sure that you fit in with whatever activity we are doing on the night of your arrival. On your first night, please remember the following:

New Adult Staff

We are also extremely pleased to meet any potential civilian volunteers. If you would like to help out on the Squadron in any capacity, we want to hear from you. Please contact us if you would like to offer your services for anything from teaching to IT support.

If you decide to apply for a permanent role on Squadron staff, you will initially be appointed as a Civilian Instructor. You will need to undergo a basic background check before this appointment can be made, but the Squadron can provide all necessary paperwork for this. After a period of no less than 3 months, it is possible to apply to go in to uniform as either a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) in the ATC or as a Volunteer Reserve (Training) Officer in the RAF. More details can be provided on request.
