Flight Lieutenant Hunting is the officer in command of 39F Squadron. He assumes overall responsibility for the running and well-being of the Squadron.
Alastair Rosenschein arranges the training schedule for the cadets. He ensures that all cadets are given the necessary training to achieve their goals within the Corps. Alastair has over 30 years experience as a pilot. He has worked as a Qualified Flying Instructor and has flown numerous light and heavy aircraft including Cessnas, Cherokees, Handley Page Heralds, Boeing 737s and the Boeing 747 series aircraft. He has worked as a pilot for British Island Airways, Air UK, Britannia Airways and British Airways. Alastair recently retired from British Airways in 2005 where he flew the Boeing 747-400 on global operations for almost 20 years. He graduated with a bachelors degree in Biology from Kings College and later received his Masters in War Studies also at Kings. He is a Fellow of the Linnaean Society of London and a chartered biologist. Alastair's previous military career includes time spent in number 10 para battalion and the Berkshire and Westminster Dragoons within the TA. As a result he brings a wealth of knowledge to 39F Squadron.
Ian Hawkes is a civilian volunteer on the Squadron, assuming responsibility for much of the day-to-day administration of 39F. He graduated with a masters degree in chemical engineering from Cambridge University and has been working in a managerial capacity since 2005. He currently works in the City and is studying for various financial qualifications to progress his career. Outside work he is a keen amateur photographer and enjoys practicing martial arts when time permits. Ian is also in charge of maintaining the website.
Luke left the ATC on turning 20. While a cadet he worked his way up through the ranks to Flight Sergeant, and as such he has an excellent working knowledge of the Squadron from a cadet perspective. He has recently been appointed as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in the Air Training Corps, and is still new to the role of Squadron Warrant Officer.
In addition to these main roles, the Squadron is fortunate to have more volunteers helping out.
Brian is another recently appointed Civilian Instructor on the Squadron. Brian works extremely hard behind the scenes to help the rest of the staff deal with the piles of paperwork associated with running a Squadron, and without him the rest of the staff would have considerably less time to look after the cadets. Brian is a second photography enthusiast on the Squadron, and several of the photos on this website are his work.
